About Our Liquid Waterproofing Membrane for Showers and Bathrooms

Easy to DIY

Apply in just 2 coats with a roller or brush with a 45-minute drying time and full curing in a week. The fastest way to waterproof your bathroom or fix shower leaks, avoiding costly tile removal and lengthy wait times.

Cost Efficient

Get professional-grade results at an affordable price. Liquid Membrane™️ has excellent cost per coverage at only $13.50 per m2 (based on 10L bucket). An average bathroom is 15m2, which would require one 4L bucket at only $225.

Multipurpose Formula

Extend the lifespan of your bathroom with this hybrid elastomer blend that provides anti-fracture and waterproofing protection in one — the better choice for long-lasting performance compared to rubber and silicone-based membranes.

Advanced Flexibility

Liquid Membrane™️ has up to 1300% elongation — which means it can stretch up to 13 times its original length! This flexibility enables you to waterproof those hard-to-reach places like the corners of shower bases and bathroom joinery.

FAQ

How many litres of liquid waterproofing will I need for my bathroom?

The 1L bucket covers 2-3m2 at the required 2 coats. A 4L bucket covers 10-15m2 (an average bathroom), and the 10L bucket provides 25-20m2 of coverage.

How many coats will I need?

Liquid Membrane™ is applied in 2 coats at 0.75mm per coat. Required total thickness is 1mm for non submerged applications.

After applying the first coat, wait until you can walk on the surface and not get any residue on your shoe or feet, or cannot leave a fingerprint impression. Apply the second coat.

You can use additional SEMCO Liquid Membrane™ to seal any defects.

What substrates can I apply Liquid Membrane™ on?

Apply to 20+ substrates including concrete, wood, stone, tiles, interior & exterior cladding, metal, aluminum, plaster, villaboard, MDF and bricks. If unsure, contact our team.

Can I paint over liquid waterproofing on my bathroom walls?

Yes, we recommend a water based paint.

Is Liquid Membrane™ slippery when wet?

SEMCO Liquid Membrane™️ takes on the qualities of the substrate it is applied to. As it is a membrane, the product does not have a slip resistance rating. If you’re using SEMCO Liquid Membrane™️ as a finished coat, more resistance can be added by adding ant-slip or quartz sand between coats prior to sealing.
