Balcony Resurfacing With Liquid Membrane: A Case Study

semco liquid waterproofing membrane

In this case study, a surfacing installer purchased our SEMCO Liquid Membrane to prepare old tiles for a new surface. Liquid Membrane isn’t only for homeowners looking to DIY; it’s also great for surfacing professionals needing high-performance products to waterproof their jobs.

Refresh your balcony with Liquid Membrane

Recently, a microcement installer used our product to waterproof and prepare an old balcony before resurfacing.

Issues with the pre-existing tiles and drainage meant it was time for a refresh of this tiled balcony. The owners didn’t want to rip up the old tiles; they were looking for solutions that wouldn’t cost them any extra time and stress.

Our SEMCO Works Liquid Membrane was applied straight over the old tiles. In just two coats, it sealed any leaks in the old tiles, and also hardened to provide long-lasting protection against future water damage with a continuous waterproofing barrier.

Then, it was time for an upgrade to the balcony’s aesthetic with a beautiful microcement overlay, X-Bond.

If the owners wanted, they could have applied Liquid Membrane in our semi-clear finish as a top coat with one of our sealers over the top, refreshing the look of the original tiles and extending their lifespan.
